Wasn’t that thing a brute? What’s with Oregon anyways? They had some absolute pigs shot out of there this year – I know of 3 topping 200 inches at least, so I’m sure there are more than that that I’ve not heard about.
I know, Oregon is really coming on lately. Kind of crazy. I love big mule deer.
You should have seen it in person, I met Chris at the Sportsman Show in Portland when I got my Buck scored. There was 4 new State records for the Archery Velvet Mule Deer that year, mine was one of them. And supposedly a guy out of Unity shot a Pending State Record Bull that’ll go about 380-390. Oregon is a great state to hunt big animals you just have to get out of the truck and off the road.
i just got the buck back from the taxidermist and it looks great. kyle i have to say your big buck was just as impressive! i hope things went well for you this year.
What have you heard about this pending record elk from Oregon? Some guy from Unity and he is 380-390? Anything else?
I had a great year just missed on a 370-400 7 by 7 Bull no more that 1 mile from where I got my buck. I was wrong on the info about the Pending State Record Bull. The Guy they call the “Elk Whisperer”, he is out of Modesto, CA but hunts in Oregon allot, got a 378 Net Bull just short of 400 for gross not far from my area. His story was in one of the latest Eastman Bow Hunting Journals. Chris you need to look me up if your ever in the Central Oregon area, maybe a little cast and blast?
Nice Chris, I just shot a typical mule deer gross scores (green) at 198 2/8 but I have to wait the 60 days. I feel blessed. Congats. I’m happy for you, and nice job on passing the test.
