First South Dakota Pheasant Hunt of 2007

First South Dakota Pheasant Hunt of 2007

Our first South Dakota pheasant hunt of the season was a success! We had eight hunters mostly from Vail, Colorado, including Chuck’s cousin and two nephews. We got our limit of birds every day. Ninety birds in three days! AWESOME! The corn is still standing, so it is bound to just get better once it is down, but the hunting is already incredible! Bird numbers are at a fifty year high according to the South Dakota Dept. of Fish and Game.

Thanks to Hayden and Abe of Eef Productions for their hard work taping the hunt for our promotional video. We are excited to see the final draft. I’m sure it will be great because these guys do super work. There is talk of them going back in December to film again so we can get some video of the huge flocks of pheasants… any excuse to come back I’m sure. ;^)

Cory and Chuck guided this hunt with some help from Cory’s wife, Coletti. She just came to hang out, but ended up helping out a bunch by driving vehicles around fields to shuttle the hunters. We’re looking forward to our next group of hunters… it’s gonna be a fun year!
